Some more Info for those attending: Just back from a flying visit to Evans Head today. I never get tired of this place.
1. Friday Night. I have booked a table on the deck at the Illawong Hotel ( 15-19 Oak St, Evans Head) for 25 pax at 6.30 pm. Order from the menu and buy me a drink.
2. Saturday Night, the Christmas Party.: drinks and Canapes' will commence at 6.00 pm downstairs on the Terrace hopefully( inside if inclement weather.) Buy your own drinks at exclusive bar until 10 pm ( then move upstairs to general bar or the pub if you wish to continue.) We aim to have you seated by 6.45pm. It will be a great evening.
YOU MUST HAVE PHOTO ID TO ACCESS THE RSL.
3. Breakfast and lunch on the Friday and Saturday:
The locals have recommended the" Sandpit Cafe" at the surf club( about 200 metres from the Bowls Cabins, on the beach). They tell me the food is excellent.
The "Vespa on Oaks" Cafe is at the beach end of the Main Street, opposite the pub and is very nice. We have used before and I had lunch there today.
Like any small town, the cafes are small and could not handle 40 odd people all descending on them at once, so please spread out and enjoy yourselves in small groups.
4. If your looking for something to do...out at the Airport is the F-111 Museum. if you have always wanted to be a Top Gun you can ( for a small donation) actually sit in one the last of the real F-111 and pretend you shot down Kim Jong-Un. The museum also has other fascinating aircraft and accessories to view. You could easily spend couple of hours there. Warning... the driveway has just been re-gravelled in thick loose gravel. care is required.
The beach swimming is excellent and a photo of your bike at the lookout is a must.
5. The BMW prize vouchers (all financial members are in the prize pool), jointly sponsored By BMW Clubs Australia and Morgan and Wacker, will be drawn at the function on Saturday night.
The town is looking pretty busy and in my mind is one of the last great secrets on the coast. Hope you enjoy it.

cheers
Paul
