Motorrad Rally 2020
Postponed till further notice
On Friday July 10 Queensland enters Stage 3 of our roadmap to Covid Recovery. We can then have 100 people permitted on our rides and at cafes so let's hit the road running with a BIG RIDE.
The Club's First Sunrise to Sunset ride of the modern era. You won't want to miss this one either for the full ride or join at one of the stage points. Here are the details with venues to be confirmed when we know the number of members who will be attending.
Start: Mt Cootha Lookout. First light at 6.12am and Sunrise at 6.37am. Bring a flask of tea/coffee and watch the sun rise over our beautiful city.
Breakfast: After a short ride through the leafy western suburbs we will have breakfast at 'The Reserve' at Anstead who open at 7.30am.
Morning Tea: Next stage will take us through country back roads of the Brisbane Valley in the crisp winter air so we might need a caffeine hit by the time we get to Esk.
On to Lunch: We will ascend the range on the delightfully twisty Ravensborne Range Road to the Darling Downs where the sun should have warmed the ground and cracked the ice. You will really feel alive by this stage. We will stretch our legs in Crows Nest then take to the back roads bypassing Toowoomba to a country pub for a relaxed lunch. Venue TBA.
Afternoon Stop: After lunch we will descend the range down the challenging but rewarding Flagstone Creek Road to enjoy more country back roads of the Brisbane and Fassifern Valleys before stopping for another intake of caffeine. Venue TBA.
Finish: Mt Gravatt Lookout. Watch the sun set after a memorable riding day with the sun setting at 5.09pm and last light at 5.34pm. A short ride down Logan Road is the Glen Hotel where those with the stamina will enjoy a convivial dinner to relive the day's highlights.
